💡 "The Monday Mandate — Why AI Makes a Terrible To-Do List"

It's Monday. Your inbox is a warzone. Your calendar looks like a game of Tetris played by someone losing. So you do what every rational person does now: you ask AI to plan your week.

Don't.

Not because AI can't plan — it can. It'll give you a beautiful, color-coded, perfectly prioritized schedule. Every block optimized. Every task slotted. Every break "strategically placed." It'll look like productivity incarnate.

And it will be completely wrong.

Here's what AI doesn't know: that the 2pm meeting will run 20 minutes long. That your energy crashes every day at 3:30. That the "quick task" you estimated at 30 minutes will take three hours because the documentation is garbage. That you, specifically, on this particular Monday, are still thinking about yesterday.

AI optimizes for the human in the prompt. You are not the human in the prompt.

The Move:
Ask AI to list your tasks — not schedule them. Take the raw list and block it yourself. You'll get three things AI can't give you:
1. The right to lie to yourself about timing (and learn from it)
2. The gut check of seeing everything at once and thinking "oh no"
3. The satisfaction of crossing things off a list you actually built

Why it matters:
- AI can sequence tasks. Only you can feel which one matters today.
- A plan you didn't make is a plan you won't follow.
- The most productive people don't have the best planners — they have the best relationship with their own energy.
- Monday isn't about optimization. It's about honesty.

> "AI can build your schedule in 0.3 seconds. It still can't tell you why you're avoiding the first task."
